geocaching at UBC

There are a few caches around the UBC campus, according to my faithful groundwork app's searches for local sites. There just hasn't been enough time to do everything - even the Nitabe Gardens and Botanical Gardens will have to wait for another visit, as will the Vancouver art gallery, and, sadly Emily Carr university. However, I did take a quick stroll to search for the nearest geocache on site. Following the hint to 'tickle behind his toes' didn't come up with much except grubby fingers, so I tried holding hands instead. No sign of this cache, which is listed needing repair, so may not be there.... good to spend a bit more time with this totem though, as I've walked past it a couple of times a day but tended to linger with the older ones until now.

Geocaching in Surrey

 

3 caches found (1 slightly worse for wear from the lawnmowers!), hidden by an SFU lecturer for their students to find exploring interaction design... sounds interesting, I wonder if they'd like to take on an HG cache of I were to place one here?

Geocaching in Manitoba

Lovely afternoon exploring five cache sites near Selkirk and at Birdshill Park.
Every cache was hidden in a different way.
The two near Selkirk are part of a 24-cache series by the Manitoba Heritage Society, complete with collector postcards at each site, and a trail leaflet outlining the different sites, all chosen for their historical and aboriginal heritage interests.
Found my first travel bugs and geocoins, some of which have come back with us ready to join the Hunter Gatherer Manitoba caches that I;m going to hide, with the fab new caching team B&E who are going to look after the magical creature when I've left Manitoba.
